Preparing for the Marriage of a Lifetime
A goal of Crossings LifeCare Ministries is that every couple married at Crossings be exposed to the important building blocks of a Christian marriage.
Because we are committed to building strong marriages, we ask couples to attend Preparing for the Marriage of a Lifetime—a nine-week course, taught by Kim Kimberling, demonstrating what a healthy marriage looks like and helping participants to evaluate their relationships. The course is ideal for seriously dating, engaged or recently married couples.
Preparing for the Marriage of a Lifetime is designed out of a desire to help couples move beyond the myths of marriage into the reality that marriage offers tremendous fulfillment, but only for those who are adequately prepared. Graduates of this course can expect to understand their future spouse better, understand how to communicate through tough issues, deal with finances, sexual matters, role expectations, and much more-all from a Biblical perspective. While a wedding coordinator aids the couple in planning for their wedding day, this course leads them to grapple with appropriate issues insuring a smooth transition from single life to married life.

About Dr. Kim Kimberling …
Dr. Kimberling holds a Ph.D. and a Doctor of Ministry in Christian
Counseling. He is a certified Christian Marriage and Family Therapist
and the founder and president of Family Christian Counseling in OKC.
The pastoral staff at Crossings Community Church believes marriage is created and ordained by God and should not be entered into without preparation.
Couples considering engagement are strongly encouraged to use the course as an aid in the decision-making process. Couples desiring a Crossings pastor to perform their ceremony are required to complete the series. Couples unable to attend the nine-week course can substitute sessions covering similar topics in the premarital series with a professional Christian counselor.
