We believe prayer is powerful and effective.
Dependence on God through prayer is foundational to our church and provides a solid base for all we do. The Prayer Ministry at Crossings helps put prayer into action.

In Exodus 17, we see Moses and Joshua fighting the Amalekites. Joshua is in the thick of the battle while Moses is standing on top of the hill and raising his hands. When his hands are up, the Israelites are winning. When he gets tired and drops his arms, they start to lose. Finally Aaron and Hur came to the rescue. They sat Moses down and helped him hold his arms up. This seems a perfect picture of prayer support. While we aren’t fighting Amalekites around here, we are waging some fierce spiritual battles.
In Exodus, the battle would have been lost if Aaron and Hur had not stepped in to support Moses. We will have to wait for heaven to see the effect of our prayers today, but there is no doubt the stakes are just as high. Call Becky at 302.1203 for information about any of these opportunities.

There are a lot of opportunities to support Crossings Community Church in prayer:
Prayer Rooms
Two rooms designated especially for prayer are available at all times. One Prayer Room is located at the southeast corner of the Chapel Foyer. A second Prayer Room (room 255) is located on the second floor, south of the main entrance.
Sunday Prayer Room
Teams of two (couples or gender-specific pairs) pray during each worship service. They pray not only for the ongoing service, but also for every facet of ministry, as well as the needs of our church family.
Saturday Prayer Team
A group of prayer warriors meets every Saturday at 10 a.m. (room 231) to walk and pray over every inch, seat and doorway of our church. The prayers are not only for the Sunday services, but for all activities or special events throughout the week.
Altar Team
This compassionate team prays for the family of Crossings Community Church at one of the most critical points of impact—at the altar.
Prayer Chain
This very vital aspect of prayer is the front-line force that meets the immediate needs of the church family. When a need within the family of Crossings occurs, they are called to pray immediately for the need and then to pass it on to the next person on the chain.
Clinic Prayer Team
Volunteers at the Crossings Clinic pray with people as they come in for clinic visits. Some have no connection with a church and the opportunity to share prayer with them is a powerful opportunity.
Military Prayer List
Submit the name of a friend or loved one who is currently serving in the military to Becky Sanders, Assistant to Congregational Care. Please let us know when there is a change in deployment status or return home.
Contact Becky Sanders, Assistant to Congregational Care, for more information about these prayer opportunities.
