An After-School Bible Club for 2nd-5th Grade Loving kids through action!
Two homeschool families from Crossings made this ministry a service project for their kids. Each month, Chandler Bass and Graham and Benjamin Russell helped their moms prepare lesson activities and projects for the kids in their small group. What a great way for these young men to develop their leadership skills!
- 2010-11 School Year
In the 2010-11 school year, Crossings began an outreach program called Kids Bible Club, where volunteers meet monthly with the 2nd-5th graders at Stanley Hupfeld Academy at Western Village. Kids Bible Club is something the kids (and the adults!) looked forward to each month. The afternoons begin with large group Bible lessons, snacks, games, and singing.
The small group leaders spend time connecting with the kids individually, reinforcing the lessons through memorizing Scripture, praying with the students, doing a hands-on activity, and just having fun! Volunteer, Margaret Ringwald, reports that she and her co-leader (who also happens to be her husband) really enjoy their small group time. “It’s a great place to talk about God and His love and mercy for each of us.”
Are you looking for a place to serve?
During the school year, Kids Bible Club meets weekly at the school, which is located just a mile from Crossings Community Center. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about Jesus, kids and telling kids about Jesus!
