WORSHIP MINISTRIES ... A place to serve!

Choir Notes Each summer, we begin to invite people to sing in our Sanctuary choir for the following school year. We have a tremendous choir family which shares its ministry weekly during the Sanctuary services. Choir meets Wednesday nights beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the Choir Room (room 172). Please consider the choir if you would like to use your gift of service and musical talent in God’s kingdom.

"Preparation meeting opportunity has been a constant development in my life. Music has always held special balance and intriguing power from childhood to adulthood. This great gift from God prepared me for a huge stepping stone in my life and faith. After first studying piano at a young age, God handed me a trumpet, like a runner passing the baton in a relay race, little did I know I was given a stepping stone that would later transform my life. God gave me an important mission to glorify His people with this talent in which I’m blessed. He prepared my life to meet the awesome opportunities to find a loving wife, to further strengthen my character as a Christian man, renew my baptism, a loving church home, and success in my career.

The best gift of all is to be thankful for the Son of God, my parents Earle and Margaret Wagner, my wife Tiffany, her parents Bruce and Lynn Gragert, Marty Grubbs, George Skramstad, Dr. Phil Moore, Steve and Rhonda Seaton, The Festival Orchestra and the Voices of Crossings for the tremendous love of God in my life that will never fall short. “ ... with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn – shout for joy before the Lord, the King” (Psalm 98:6)." —Brian Wagner (trumpet)

"Choir has meant new and eternal relationships. So many people truly care and have caused me to sense a connection to Crossings. I am MOST thankful for the opportunity to communicate with the congregation the message of my heart through song. As much as I need and desire to praise and experience worship, I primarily hope to share and express the words of the music with others. What a privilege to serve in this ministry!" —Kandy Myers (soprano)

"Singing with the Voices of Crossings is my way of giving back to my church and community. I have so much to be thankful for and God has blessed me in so many ways. Singing praises to God with such a fine group of people is an honor and privilege. Come sing with us!" —Mike McDaniel (bass)

"My parents came down from Colorado to help me move into my new apartment and I wanted them to visit Crossings with me. My mom saw an announcement in the bulletin about the choir retreat and she had convinced me to go. I was looking for a way to serve and get plugged into the ministries, specifically music, and she thought choir would be the perfect opportunity. Since that initial step, my life has been richly blessed with new relationships with people from all walks of life. The choir has become my home away from home, a place where I know I am always welcomed. Each Sunday, I am able to sing and worship with fellow believers and I am so honored to be part of this exceptional choir." —Tiana Perez (soprano)

"Playing in the Crossings Festival Orchestra, as a violinist, is a rare opportunity for me to worship and help lead worship through my instrument. It is something that is not offered in the arts world. I am truly grateful to play with such splendid musicians that offer their talents for worship every Sunday morning. It is refreshing and wonderful to see and experience!" —Elizabeth Chrisman (violin)

"... to be a member of the choir is a calling. I thought that a calling was just for pastors, not the average church member. I was convicted otherwise. God has plans for us that are not always what we thing. Each member is called; some hear it, try it and stay. Others try it and leave. Each of us has to determine where we are to serve. God calls each of us to service, not just to be ministered to.

... There is great satisfaction in being able to make a difference in the worship experience for the congregation – especially for someone like me who is just an average choir voice to be able to allow the Holy Spirit to work through us. There is no temptation to believe it is us that is making a difference." —David Rhoades (baritone)

"Singing in the choir is the best thing I do for myself … and I get to do it over and over again. While many of the voices I hear around me are very beautiful, it’s ALL the voices that make the sound so beautiful. Every individual voice, even those that are perhaps not meant for solos, blends to make the WHOLE that is so beautiful. ... While music is the lure for me, I’ve made many wonderful friends in choir whom I would probably not know otherwise. We all share an enjoyable, common purpose, and we care about each other; we share each other’s difficult times, and hold each other up in prayer … we support each other." —Norma West (soprano)
