He is a passionate Bible scholar and popular Crossings teacher. Ecclesiastes is his favorite book of the Bible because it “explores the meaning of life in a profound way.”

In his spare time, Terry enjoys running, reading, and the occasional golf game (as a lesson in humility). His favorite band is Into the Pensive, the groundbreaking Wizard Wrock band. Autograph’s available; we think he has a special “in” with some of the band members (since he’s the dad).

Interesting Facts: When Marty Grubbs became Senior Pastor in 1981, his second hire was Jeff as Pastor of Student Ministry. (Years earlier, Marty was Jeff’s youth pastor at the church). Later, Jeff went back to college to get his counseling degree and began the counseling ministries at Crossings (now called LifeCare Ministries). As the church grew, Marty called on his friend and colleague to act as Executive Pastor, helping to oversee and assist the many ministries of Crossings.

A little known fact about Jeff is that he is an amateur meterologist, so if you want to know anything about cumulus clouds, Jeff is your man.

Interesting Facts:David loves to help visitors get “connected” into the various ministries and volunteer opportunities at Crossings. He has a real passion for people and began his ministry as a Youth Pastor at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago (which also employed his wife, Xuan). Upon joining the CCC staff, he has served in various roles, including Middle School pastor, until he accepted his current role in 2007.

Hobbies for David include anything to do with sports–especially baseball, golf, and football–and hanging out with his family.

Interesting Facts: Linda came to Crossings from Mid-America Christian University having served as their Library Director from 1992-2001, but her many talents have afforded her other interesting jobs. She was the principal of Tower Christian Academy in Houston, Texas, as well as a preschool director, before focusing on the library arts.

Not surprisingly, Linda’s favorite hobby is reading, but she also enjoys working out when her busy schedule permits.

When asked what word described her best, she says, “Adventurous. There aren’t many places I wouldn’t travel, foods I wouldn’t eat, or things I wouldn’t try (within limits, of course)!”

Yes, it’s a big job, but he hasn’t always worked in the accounting field. His past work experience includes being the Program Director of St. Anthony Hospital’s SCORE program, as well as Conditioning Specialist for the Auburn University Athletic Department.

In his spare time, he loves to work out, as well as listen to blueglass music and go to the zoo with his family.

He loves the book of Luke in the Bible because “it describes how God enjoys everyone, even outcasts and underdogs.” Flick’s outgoing personality shows in everything he does as he works to encourage, challenge, and provide care and vision for the various ministries of men and single adults.

Interesting Facts:Deidre delights in creating environments in which people can explore their God-given capacity to become more like our master, Jesus. For her, spiritual formation is not a program in which to enroll, but an inevitable part of every person’s life.

Because the best opportunities for spiritual growth arise in the context of Christ-centered friendships, Deidre is in charge of Community Groups at Crossings. These small groups of believers gather in homes throughout the city to encourage one another in spiritual conversation, prayer, and meaningful friendship.

Deidre maintains Apprentice: A Curriculum for Christlikeness. This 1 ½ year long program is the answer to Deidre’s long search to find a curriculum that really works in developing disciples that resemble our Master, Jesus.

Deidre is married to Paul, and together they participated in the miracle of adoption when they welcomed Dominick and Georgie to complete their lives, becoming the Franklin Family in January of 2009.

Barbara Houston

Interesting Facts:Throughout Barbara’s life, women’s Bible study has been and continues to be one of her passions. “I have dear friends from the first Bible study I attended in 1979 and from various women’s Bible studies at Crossings. We have walked through life together, and I want that same wonderful experience for all women.”

When she isn’t hanging out with young moms and women, she also loves antiquing, spending time with her family, and gardening. (No wonder she loves antiquing–her past businesses have included part owner of a retail antique store, a decorating business, and even cake decorating.

Interesting Facts:This preacher’s kid grew up on the mission field, making his home in Korea, California, Wyoming, Texas, and the great plains of Oklahoma. In his 27-year coaching career and working for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Craig has used his love of athletics as a way of sharing the message of Christ with others. Craig’s resume is pretty impressive, but we can’t leave out that this athletic guru was named National Coach of the Year twice – first, by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, and second, by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Jason has been leading worship since high school and was a Student Ministries Intern at Crossings before joining the staff full time. His vision is to help usher in intimate worship for all ages, believing music helps us communicate to God what our hearts feel and what we can’t find the words to say.

In his free time he enjoys playing soccer (or any outdoor activity), watching movies, taking much needed naps, and “bleeding blue” for his Kentucky Wildcats basketball.

Interesting Facts:Rick began his pastoral ministry in Oklahoma City (South Agnew Church of God) in 1973 and has pastored in Arkansas, Texas, and Alabama. He also served as hospice Chaplain for two years before joining the staff at Crossings. His duties keep him visiting people at hospitals most days – or anything that he can do to help people through difficult times.

Rick and his wife love to travel (the best trip they’ve ever taken was to Alaska) and work on projects around the house.

Interesting Facts:Lance was born in Shawnee and grew up in the Oklahoma City area. While attending the University of Oklahoma, he was involved in Campus Crusade for Christ, through which he met his future wife on a summer project. After they married, Lance and Jeni spent their first five years in Pensacola, Florida where Lance served as a yearbook and school portrait sales associate; and Jeni taught elementary school. After graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2000, Lance pastored a church near Dallas, then served as a hospice chaplain in that same area.

In his spare time, Lance enjoys Sooner Football, writing, reading and Andy Griffith reruns.

Interesting Facts: Pam and Verle have attended Crossings since 2003. Pam’s passion is helping people grow spiritually, assisting them in developing a growing, intimate relationship with Christ, and facilitating discovery of their God-given gifts. On any Sunday morning, you will find Pam playing the violin in the CCC orchestra. Verle serves in the parking lot ministry as a traffic director and cart driver.
Pam’s leisure time is spent reading, quilting, oil painting, playing piano and violin and shooting guns with her husband. Yes, she has a concealed carry license and has been professionally trained in handgun self-defense at the Front Sight Resort in the Nevada desert where she is fondly known as “Pammie Oakley.”

Interesting Facts:For nearly 25 years, Ron has focused his counseling on faith-based individual, marital, and family issues. After many years in private practice, Ron, an ordained pastor, joined the CCC pastoral staff, overseeing LifeCare Ministry which helps those experiencing brokenness in their lives by offering one-on-one counseling and/or participation in a variety of support groups and classes, known as the CareSeries.

In his spare time, he and his family are die-hard Sooner fans. When he’s not bleeding crimson and crème, Ron’s been spotted aerobic kayaking and road biking in OKC. You might even find him on the Colorado slopes, ski poles in hand.

LifeTools is the only program locally that is spiritually-based and curriculum-driven.”

In her off hours, she enjoys anything creative, especially scrapbooking.

Professionally, she has served as Executive Director of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in Oklahoma and worked at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for over 28 years.

Interesting Facts:On Monday nights (and a few other times throughout the week), Crossings offers a variety of support groups and classes called the CareSeries. Todd is the director and is excited about the opportunity to lead this program. “It’s a safe place where people can be real about the challenges that life brings and can find hope for the journey.”

It’s a good thing he found his true calling, because we understand in sixth grade, Todd won a state rap contest. However, the day of the music video shoot, he and his “posse” all got the stomach flu. His rap career’s never been the same since. Lucky for us.

Interesting Facts:Christopher officially came on staff in 2004, but he actually worked as an intern in Student Ministries for the two years before that. From the beginning, his passion has been the arts, especially anything on film or video, computer programming, web and graphic design. He feels that through the arts many people discover who they are and who God created them to be.

If you don’t find him programming the Sunday morning 10:45 service in the Gym – or the Family Zone service for children on Wednesday nights – or even directing and filming videos throughout the church, you might look for him at any O.U. football game, playing on the computer, or hanging out with friends at the movies.

Interesting Facts:Michael spent much of his formative years in Jordan and the Gaza Strip, where his parents served as missionaries. Before joining the staff, Michael and his family served as missionaries in the Middle East. It helps that Michael is tri-lingual in Arabic, Hebrew, and his native tongue, English. He put his love of missions AND sports to good use when he and his wife led a two-week sports evangelism conference in the Middle East.

Interesting Facts:Pam’s 26 year career in healthcare is impressive: she’s been Head Nurse at St. Anthony Hospital, Director of Nursing and Hospital Administrator at Willow View Mental Health System, and Executive Director of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Research Institute at the OU Health Sciences Center, but she was meant to be in Missions. Her passion is helping to link people to meaningful outreach using their spiritual gifts and helping them learn how to incorporate “serving” into their every day ordinary lives.

She also apparently has another talent – many moons ago, Pam traveled all over the United States square dancing. That’s right, she’s donned the big, frilly petticoats. In her free time, you might find Pam traveling the world with friends, serving in our community with husband Phil, reading, or playing with Barney.

Steve Turner

Interesting Facts:When the Crossings Community Clinic moved to N. Hefner Road and became Crossings Community Center, it was obvious that a director was needed. Steve was the perfect person, with his 33 years of experience in the healthcare field, as well as having served on Crossings Missions Committee and Board of Elders. Today, under his leadership, the Center not only houses a medical clinic, but includes dental, eye, and mental health services…just to mention a few.

On a personal note, Steve enjoys cycling, jogging, sports cars, custard ice cream, and being with friends and family.

Interesting Facts: One would assume the person running a Mother’s Day Out program would really love kids – and that describes Tina perfectly. Having taught kindergarten for twelve years in both the Oklahoma City and Putnam City Public Schools, Tina enjoys not only getting to know (and nurture) the children, but the moms and other family members, as well.

Her many interests include reading and occasional trips to Colorado with her family.

Interesting Facts:Darla’s career began in administration and accounting before being a stay-at-home mom for fourteen years. Her love for children, especially babies, and for moms shows in everything she does (especially since she also serves as Director of the MOM’s, Moments of Motherhood, group that meets as part of the Monday Morning Women’s Bible Studies).

Darla’s favorite quote is by Oscar Wilde, “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” She loves NASCAR, Mexican food, working in the yard, sewing, and is currently engrossed in the book of Philippians.

Interesting Facts:When Marty Grubbs became Senior Pastor in 1981, his second hire was Jeff as Pastor of Student Ministry. (Years earlier, Marty was Jeff’s youth pastor at the church). Later, Jeff went back to college to get his counseling degree and began the counseling ministries at Crossings (now called LifeCare Ministries). As the church grew, Marty called on his friend and colleague to act as Executive Pastor, helping to oversee and assist the many ministries of Crossings.

A little known fact about Jeff is that he is an amateur meterologist, so if you want to know anything about cumulus clouds, Jeff is your man.

Interesting Facts: Growing up Mike wanted to be a country singer, but that was before he became a pastor and memorized the entire book of Philippians. If you know Mike, you know he believes in investing time with the youth of today.

Because of his love of the outdoors and hunting, his future aspiration is to own and run a public campground, while still in full-time ministry. He has also written a book entitled, “God Moments from a Deer Stand: A 30-day Devotional for Hunters.”

Interesting Facts:Leo’s first name is really Eleodoro, but it’s so much easier to say “Leo.” He is passionate about leading students into a greater understanding of what it truly means to follow Christ. Leo leads worship for the Middle School and High School Ministries and enjoys working with students to develop their skills as musicians and more importantly as Christ followers. He plays a variety of different instruments which allows him to teach young musicians how to play their instrument. Leo is also a song writer and his prayer is for God to use his songs and life to draw people nearer to Jesus Christ. Leo’s life verse is Deuteronomy 6:5.

Interesting Facts:Before coming to Crossings, Lindsey attended school in Kansas for four years, followed by a one-year internship in Kentucky. She is glad to be back in good ol’ Oklahoma after being gone for a while! Lindsey enjoys hanging out with students, building relationships, serving others and making someone’s day. It’s the simple things in life she enjoys….jokes, smiles, lightning, rain, even black straws! Lindsey would love to travel whenever and wherever. Referring to her ministry, Lindsey says, “All I know is that God is faithful and all powerful, and I can’t wait to see the journey He takes us all on!”

Interesting Facts:David loves to help visitors get “connected” into the various ministries and volunteer opportunities at Crossings. He has a real passion for people and began his ministry as a Youth Pastor at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago (which also employed his wife, Xuan). Upon joining the CCC staff, he has served in various roles, including Middle School pastor, until he accepted his current role in 2007.

Hobbies for David include anything to do with sports–especially baseball, golf, and football–and hanging out with his family.

Interesting Facts: Josh tells us that Pocahontas is in his family tree lineage, but even more impressive is that he’s performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC with his high school choir. More recently, Josh attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where he served as the Overflow (a student-led, non-denominational worship ministry for college students) worship leader for three years. As the story goes, Senior Pastor Marty Grubbs attended Overflow one evening with his son, Tyler, and was very impressed with his musical talent. The rest is history. Three months later, Josh joined the full-time staff at Crossings as the Contemporary Worship Director for the gym services.

Interesting Facts:From playing his first piano offertory in church at age five to performing in his high school talent show, George is a man of many talents. If you’ve ever attended a Sanctuary worship service or any Sanctuary musical event, George is the man behind every note of music. Having been in ministry for over 30 years, George also finds times to serve as an instructor for graduate courses in worship at three different universities.

According to George, one of the greatest honors of his life was being asked to compose and originate the music that was sung and played for the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial Dedication.
